Now I can't totally speak for other people my age or younger.  However, I personally feel like most every one whose ever gone to a party, tailgated, or even attended a college university, you've heard of beer pong.  You've probably played (no I'm not judging) or you've watched a game take place.  Being a big drinker myself and coming from big party school, I can easily admit I've played my fair share of beer pong...OK maybe even more than I'd like to admit.

As an adult and a parent now, this has become a foreign activity and one that almost seems as a hush hush topic around children.  This just plain stinks because the game itself is actually quite fun.  So what if you could take the beer out of beer pong and play the same game you've enjoyed in the past without encouraging drinking alcohol in any way?  I know that get me excited and I knew my kids would be thrilled to play a game like this if Mommy would actually let them.

Point Pong has done exactly this.  Creator of Point Pong "envisioned a game, which could not only be considered a drinking game, but also a fun family game."  It is your old version of beer pong with the flexibility of four tables and all accessories you could possibly need and now it's Point Pong (making it family friendly).  This is by far one of the coolest game sets I've ever seen!

Your Point Pong set comes with a carry bag, 2 sturdy nylon bases, 2 strong plastic legs, 2 multi-functional tops, 8 side cup holders, 20 colored rings, 22 – 16 oz. cups, and 6 balls.  Can you just say wow?!  No more running to the store for cups or searching everywhere in your house for ping pong balls.  Not only does it all come with the set but it can be kept in one place when not in use, in the carry bag!

Not only are the tops waterproof, they also float.  This way you can play inside, outside, while tailgating, or while chillin in the pool.  I love the cup holders and the designated spots for holding the cups securely so I no longer have to worry about spills.  The kids can play this whenever they want without fear that it will encourage them to drink booze of any kind; We can play as a family which we of course did the minute it arrived; And for those adult only parties, I can still play my old version using beer.

The best part is now whether I am playing the adult version or the family friendly one, I am playing on a pretty bad a$$ set.  We've used this now for several different occasions and in only the short month I've had it.  We took it camping a few weekends ago, at memorial day at my parents in the pool, tailgating at a sporting event this past week, inside our home whenever the kids feel like competing, and in our backyard anytime the weather cooperates.
Cost/Available to purchase:  $125 Point Pong Beer Pong Table Package
Recommendation:  The Point Pong set is very well made and sturdy enough it sure seems like it is going stand quite a bit of use over time and even with my rough family.  Built to travel wherever the fun takes you, the pieces can easily be thrown in the carrying bag and tossed in the back of your car.  This is definitely well worth the purchase if you are the type who will use something like this even if it's only for the rare occasion your family or friends get together.  Cost wise, you really cannot go wrong with all the quality accessories that come with it too!

Point Pong Beer Pong Table: Turning Heads and Making Fans

There's nothing quite as satisfying as being told you're a genius. Kevin Brown, the president of Point Pong, doesn't mean to brag, but he hears that all the time. "We've been to a lot of shows this year to increase awareness of Point Pong," he says. "People love it. It has a real wow factor." Point Pong is a portable version of beer pong. The idea came to Brown during one spring break when his kids were home from college. He put a clever spin on it by creating a version that floats. "Point Pong can be played on land, in a pool, in a dorm room, at a backyard party, graduation party or at a tailgate," says Brown. "And it is fun for all ages. You don't have to play with beer to enjoy it." As a newcomer to the tailgate industry, Brown is figuring out where Point Pong fits best at retail. Currently, he does most of his sales through the company website. Brown is also looking into licensing options. "We were at most of the big bowl games this past season, and we'll be at various NASCAR events," he says. Brown's message to retailers is simple. "Point Pong is a multi-purpose game that can be played by anyone," he says. "Our customers generally range in age from 25 to 55. Everyone who sees Point Pong wants to play." See the article here.

Point Pong Beer Pong Table was reviewed on Tailgate365.com

I’m guessing many readers on this site have spent more than a few days of their lives playing beer pong in some dingy college basement or in the local bar. The game is part of our heritage as partying, beer drinking Americans. My memories take me back to a time when beer pong tournaments in college started at the crack of dawn and ran until…well…there was no one left standing I guess. Times have changed since then (No I’m not telling you when I graduated) and so have the products to make this game even better than we ever thought it could be. Back then we used whatever flat surface we could afford or better yet, take off of the hinges. Search the web these days and you find a myriad of beer pong tables but they all have their limitations. One of the biggest is that you have to lug them around with you and try to keep people from using them as food storage areas at tailgates. Oh yeah, most don’t float either. Enter Point Pong, the portable beer pong system. As you can see, Point Pong is a mobile system that eliminates the table from your pong games. To give you an idea of what you are dealing with, let’s start with what’s included and how it looks. Each stand is a triangle 20″ in diameter with a height of 30″. The entire loaded carry bag only weighs 11lbs so it gets high marks on the portability scale. Each stand breaks down into the base, support pole and the tops. You also get 8 side holders (we’ll get to that), 20 colored rings for different game variations, 22 plastic cups (Toby Keith would approve) and 6 balls. You really are ready to roll from the minute this arrives on your doorstep. You can also skip the distance guessing game because there is a clip on distance rope in the kit as well. I will admit, I was a little intimidated testing this for the first time because I am a huge fan of the bounce technique. You know: toss-bounce-sploosh. With Point Pong you need to bring your A game because it takes a fine touch to score on the fly. While I thought that would “mess up my game”, my concerns quickly melted away and I adapted to a new style in no time. Once you are in the heat of a match nothing else matters but ball meeting cup. Since I received this in Winter, my first test was indoors and with two small children running around, a huge table in the middle of the living room isn’t going to be good for anyone (except maybe the nighttime medical center). Not a problem with this unit, simply move the racks out of the way if an impromptu dance session breaks out. At some point they have to crash and I can get back to my game. Once the weather broke I was able to get this outside and it was just as fun. I’ve had numerous people try it and they all love the idea of being able to take the game wherever the party goes instead of being stuck around a table for hours at a time. In the span of an afternoon we went from my deck to the back yard to my neighbors house with ease. Another great feature will be available when the temperature rises-pool pong. By using the tops, the clipped line and cups, you can have your favorite games while soaking in the shallow end. In addition to custom games on land, the extra cup holders come into play here. Simply snap them on, invert cups and trap air inside while bringing them up from under the holder for added stability. The games can also be very kid friendly by holding competitions using only pool water (I don’t recommend drinking it though). If you can’t tell by now, I’m a big fan. This kit is perfect for tailgating, house parties, pool parties and just about anywhere else people are going to get together. So that’s it, get your butts over to their website and pick one up.
